Twenty-three members of the Oakfield Senior Citizens met at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club in Oakfield on Nov. 2, 2016.
An extra special potluck luncheon was enjoyed by all. After a short business meeting, with all the usual reports being read and accepted, guest speaker Christine McPherson from the Agency on Aging spoke about her duties as the new RSVP coordinator for Southern Aroostook.
The area needs volunteers for medical transportation, friendly visiting, food pantry, delivering meals to the homebound and many other needs. Those who would like more information should call The Agency on Aging in Presque Isle at 1 (800) 439-1789.
Sharon Anderson and Wannetta Townsend won the door prizes, and Charlotte Marley was the 50/50 winner.
A sign-up sheet was circulated with the list of items needed for the Thanksgiving dinner at the next meeting, which will be Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Snowmobile Club at the usual time. Hope to see everyone there.
Attending were Marie Gillotti, Verna Boone, Bob and Delores Locke, Berniece Campbell, Jeanne Clements, Ellie Peck, Don and Charlotte Marley, Sandra Anderson, George Barrow, Wannetta Townsend, Nacie Fowler, Alma Russell, Mildred Gagnon, Iona Nadeau, David Burpee, Thelma Flowers, Arlene Friel, Bonnie Pratt, Kathleen Boutilier, Earl and Lottie Doughty and Christine McPherson.
