Veterans Day is Friday, Nov. 11, but several local schools will celebrate local vets a day early with special events.
At Southern Aroostook Community School in Dyer Brook, the public is encouraged and cordially invited to come to the Veterans Day Assembly on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. in the school’s gymnasium. A special ceremony will be held to honor local veterans and all veterans who have sacrificed to protect this country’s freedoms.

At Hodgdon Middle-High School, a Veterans’ Breakfast will be held Thursday, starting at 7:45 a.m. for all local vets and their families. The event is sponsored by the school’s Jobs for Maine Grads program. Following the breakfast, a ceremony honoring those veterans in attendance will take place.
