The event will begin at 11 a.m. at the cemetery on 37 Lombard Rd.
Master of ceremonies Larry Theriault will lead things off, followed by the posting of colors by the Loring Job Corps honor guard. Chaplain Troy Heald will offer prayers, and Caribou High School students under the direction of music teacher Vicki King will sing.
A special program will dedicate the committal shelter in memory of Jim Day, a Purple Heart veteran of the Korean War; John Barlow, a Vietnam veteran who died of Agent Orange complications; Raphael “Ray” Guerrette, a WWII veteran; and Donald “Don” Raymond, a Vietnam-era veteran who served at the National Security Agency.
Speakers will include Harry C. Hafford, chairman of the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery Corporation, and Kris Doody, CEO of Cary Medical Center. Legislative representatives will also offer remarks, including Phil Bosse, representing
Sen. Susan Collins; Sharon Campbell of Sen. Angus King’s office; and Kim Rohn, office representative for Rep. Brice Poliquin.
Hafford and Doody will lay the ceremonial wreath, and the Legion Riders of Madawaska’s American Legion Post 147 will present a 21-gun salute. Meagan Dube will follow with “Taps.”
Coffee and hot cocoa will be furnished by Virtual Managed Solutions of Caribou.
