STACYVILLE — Carl E. Drew, 80, passed away October 31, 2016 in Millinocket with his family by his side. He was born April 13, 1936 in Stacyville, the son of Fernald and Thelma (Horseman) Drew.
Carl graduated from Sherman High School in 1954 where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving two years in France and Germany. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper, and enjoyed fly tying, boxing and fiddle heading. He loved all sports, but especially watching his children and grandchildren participating. He retired from Sherman Lumber as a forester with over 40 years experience. He was a member of Molunkus Lodge #165 AF & AM and Anah Shriners, Bangor.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Monda (Goodine) Drew; five children, Carlene and John Gould, Keith and Cindy Drew, Tim and Shelly Drew, Tammy and Shawn Craig, Andrea and Jerald Patterson all of the surrounding area; 12 grandchildren, Travis, Amanda, Cooper, Nik, Lindsay, Brandon, Hannah, Lucas, Shawna, Makayla and her husband, John Braley, Caine and Kendra; one great granddaughter, Zoey Leo; a sister, Coradene and her husband, Carroll Birmingham. He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends called 12-1 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Washburn Memorial Church, Sherman where funeral services were held at 1 p.m. with Donnie Willigar officiating in conjunction with Molunkus Lodge of Sherman. Interment with full military honors will be in the Stacyville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in Carl’s memory to the Molunkus Lodge #165, Sherman, ME 04776.
