Erdean Toner Lauritsen passed away peacefully at Leisure Village Apartments on November 7, 2016, in Presque Isle. She was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Limestone, the daughter of Cora (Campbell) and John Toner.
She was a graduate of Limestone High School and spent many years working as a legal secretary, most notably for Phillips, Olore, Walker and Dunleavey PA.
She married her high school sweetheart, Edgar Leroy “Roy,” after he returned from WW II and they raised eight children together until his death in 1969.
Our mother had a large circle of friends and looked forward to all the company and conversations she enjoyed over the years. She had a great memory for everyone’s birthday and their special occasions. She got a lot of joy from the times shared with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will all miss Sunday morning coffee and banter that she provided over the past several years.
She is survived by her children, Maureen (Robert) Armstrong of Auburn, Susan (Calvin) Deschene of Presque Isle, Marc Lauritsen of Presque Isle, Jon (Kim) Lauritsen of Mapleton, Carmen Lauritsen-Keegan of Wells, Lora (Craig) Cunningham, Stephen (Lee) Lauritsen of Brunswick ,and Paul Lauritsen of St.Louis, MO; grandchildren, Nicole Lillis, Travis Lauritsen, Bradford Armstong, Benjamin, Natasha and Spencer Deschene, Kara Mahan, Colby Lauritsen, Kaitlyn Morse, Hannah Lakin, Jared Cunning-ham and Taylor Lauritsen; 15 great-grandchildren; and a very special brother-in-law, Sheldon Lauritsen, and his wife, Shirley, of Limestone.
She was predeceased by four siblings, Elva Cote, Evelyn Adams, Omar Toner Sr. and Donald Toner Sr.
She was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
The family is especially grateful to the caring staff of Leisure Village Apartments and her wide circle of supportive friends from Dyer St.
Friends called 10 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. with Rev. Alex Maria-Doss officiating. Interment will be held at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone, following a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
