HOULTON  — Norma Pauline (Cogswell) Bates, 89 went to be with the Lord of her life, Jesus Christ and the love of her life, George on November 15, 2016.

Norma was born April 13, 1927, daughter of Kenneth and Myrtle Cogswell of Fort Fairfield, Maine. At a young age Norma’s family moved to the Sunny Knoll Farm on the Jackins Settlement Road in Hodgdon. Norma’s greatest joy was being a wife and mother and her love for her family was evident in all she did. Her love for the Lord, her compassion for others, and gift of hospitality were a great influence on many lives. Music was a big part of Norma’s life and she had a song for every occasion. She was a member of the Houlton Wesleyan Church.

Norma will be greatly missed by her children Kenneth and wife Maureen of Houlton, Richard and wife Flossie of Queensbury, New York, Cheryl and husband Dale of Fort Fairfield, David and wife Lisa of Houlton, Kimberly and husband Darren of Woodstock, NB, and adopted son Jeffrey Turcotte and wife Cheryl of Highpoint, North Carolina, along with her grandchildren Ben and wife Pam Nason, Heidi Nason, Sarah and husband Jackie Kelley, Stacey Bates, Paige and husband Joe Kahlbaugh, Bryan Gage Bates, Samantha and Brandon Hawkes, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
