School honors Wildcat athletes

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Athletes from Presque Isle High School were honored Nov. 8 during the school’s fall sports awards night, with soccer players, cheerleaders, cross country runners and golfers all recognized for their participation.

The following is a recap of the awards presented.
Junior varsity girls’ soccer — Coach Katie Patenaude presented certificates to: freshmen Katelyn Amero, Hana Boucher, Destiny Carson, Sophia Lambert, Allison Himes, Emma Postell, Rebecca Rider, Liliana Wardwell and manager Jessica Curtis; sophomores Sarah Beaulieu, Emma Bouchard, Sydney Durepo, Kamryn Gilmour and Emma Kohlbacher; junior Breanna Byrd; and senior Haley Moro.
Junior varsity boys’ soccer — Coach Brian Cronin presented certificates to: freshmen Connor Albertson, Sam Beaulieu, Gavin Akeley, James Bell, Bryce Bonville, Colby Bonville, Jacob Bonville, Colby Buckley, Ethan Cassidy, Connor DeMerchant, Gabe Herweh, Connor Junkins, Jaden MacDonald, Damon Underwood and Caleb Wheaton; sophomores Will Bridges, Mark Graves, Riley Kinney, Garrett Morneault, Chase Quirion, Carter Rice, Iffy Sargent, Jacob Sjoberg and Mason Young; and juniors Cameron Lahey and Gage Young.
Fall cheering — Coach Kelsie Spooner presented first-year letters to: freshmen Jayde Cook, Bethany Devoe, Alexis Moro, Rebekah Poliero and Erica Rosten; sophomore Miranda Drost; and junior Mallory Martin; a second-year letter to senior Victoria Williamson; and third-year letters to juniors Jessica Boucher and Kiara Lyford.
Varsity golf — Coach Adam Flynn presented first-year letters to sophomore Libby Boone and junior Isaac Madore; a second-year letter to sophomore Seth Roy; a third-year letter to senior John Saucier; and a fourth-year letter to senior Hunter Flynn.
Varsity boys’ cross country — Coach Evan Graves presented a certificates to sophomore Jordan Scott; first-year letters to freshman Carter Jackson, sophomores Josh Ashton and Owen McQuarrie and juniors Jonah Clark and Ian Hoyt-Franz; second-year letters to sophomores Trace Cyr and Brandon McKnight; and a third-year letter to junior Max Bartley.
Varsity girls’ cross country — Coach Mike Waugh presented a certificate to sophomore Anna Robinson; first-year letters to freshman Stephanie Donovan and junior Maddie Wing; second-year letters to sophomores Madison Jandreau and Alexandra Walsh; and third-year letters to juniors Ellie Goheen, Isabelle Jackson and Olivia Mosher.
Varsity girls’ soccer — Coach Ralph Michaud and assistant coach Dillon Kingsbury presented certificates to sophomores Emma Kohlbacher and Sydney Thompson; first-year letters to freshmen Charlotte Carrier, Clara Kohlbacher, Alana Legassie, Paige McHatten and Libby Moreau; sophomores Grace Bemis, Lydia Miller and Savannah Rodriguez; and juniors Natalie Bates and manager Taylor Billings; second-year letters to sophomores Elizabeth Collins, Molly Kingsbury, Madison Michaud and Eleanor St. Peter; juniors Chrissy Skidgel and Mackenzie Turner; and senior Grace Player; third-year letters to junior Emily Wheaton and senior Tori Koch; and a fourth-year letter to manager Jillian Jandreau.
Varsity boys’ soccer — Coach Joe Greaves and assistant coach Tim McCue presented certificates to sophomores Drew Cameron and Torey Levesque and juniors Jack Beaulieu, Jack Bonville and RJ Gross; first-year letters to sophomores Zechariah Morse and manager Cole Paterson; seniors Bradley Kinney, Marcus Ouellette and manager David Kofstad; second-year letters to sophomores Kyler Caron, Jason Dumais and Jonah Hudson; junior Adam Paterson; and seniors Patrick Cash, Jake Kinney and Denny Young; third-year letters to juniors Griffin Guerrette, Randon Mortland and Ryle Mortland; and fourth-year letters to seniors Nick Bartlett, Khasen Lowe, Josiah Morse and manager Elise Guerrette.
Special awards were also presented during the evening. Receiving sweatshirts, awarded to those accumulating a combination of six varsity letters during a career, were Max Bartley (cross country, skiing and track and field), Khasen Lowe (soccer and track and field), John Saucier (golf and skiing) and Denny Young (soccer, hockey and tennis). Isabelle Jackson (cross country, skiing and track and field) had earned her sweatshirt in the spring.
Jackets are awarded to those lettering in a sport all four years. Recipients were Nick Bartlett (soccer), Hunter Flynn (golf), Elise Guerrette (soccer manager), Jillian Jandreau (soccer manager), Khasen Lowe (soccer) and Josiah Morse (soccer).
