Washburn police find suspect

     WASHBURN, Maine —  Police accused a 31-year-old Washburn man of breaking into two homes in the town and stealing a rifle, among other things.

     Two homes in Washburn were burglarized on Wednesday, Nov. 30, with a rifle, money and a number of personal items stolen, according to the Washburn Police Department.

     After two days of investigating within the community, the police said they arrested Travis White, 31, and found all of the stolen items. 

     Police charged White with two counts of burglary, the theft of a firearm, theft with prior convictions, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, all of which could come with a sentence of more than a decade in prison.

     White is being held at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton on $25,000 cash bail.
