WASHBURN NEWS
By Amy Sawyer
On Sunday, Nov. 27th another great event in the history of Washburn Boy Scout Troop 177 took place. Bryce Roix, the son of Tim and the late Lee Roix of Washburn, became the Troop’s 37th Eagle Scout.
The exceptionally well executed ceremony was held by members of Boy Scout Troop 177, adult speakers Stacey Skinner, Taylor Skinner, Adam Wilcox and Scoutmaster Larry Harrison, who was also Master of Ceremonies.
The ceremony included a presentation from Keith Brown of the Washburn Town Council presenting Bryce with a sentiment proclaiming November 27th as Bryce Roix Day. Steve Boddy of the Washburn Rotary Club presented Bryce with a membership to the National Eagle Scout Association. Bryce was also given a legislative sentiment from the State of Maine for his accomplishment.
Many family and friends were present to celebrate Bryce’s journey to becoming an Eagle Scout including Tim Roix (father), Caitlyn Roix (sister), Roland and Stella Gauvin-Roix (grandparents), Cheryl and Lee Demerchant (aunt and uncle) and Isaac and Sarah Demerchant (cousins).
Congratulations to Bryce and his family for this amazing accomplishment.
