WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins welcomed Elsa Thibodeau, a Stockholm native, to serve a fall internship in her Washington, D.C., office.

Thibodeau is the daughter of Joe Thibodeau and Lisa Anderson of Stockholm.
“It is always a pleasure to give Mainers an opportunity to become actively involved in the legislative process here in Washington and to serve the citizens of Maine,” said Collins. “Elsa has a strong work ethic and a commendable desire to serve the State of Maine, and I am delighted to welcome her to my Washington, D.C., office.”
Thibodeau previously served as an intern in Collins’ Caribou and Bangor offices. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine in 2016 with a degree in international affairs, concentrating in women and gender studies, with minors in business administration and dance.
She is an accomplished dancer, who hopes to pursue a career in the international non-profit sector. She has a special interest in international women’s issues and combating human trafficking.
