Toys for Tots campaign in high gear

HOULTON, Maine — Last Christmas Toys for Tots provided toys and made Christmas brighter for more than 800 low income children in southeast Aroostook County.

Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots has distributed an average of 16 million toys annually and brought Christmas to an average of nearly 7 million needy children each year for the last 15 years.
Nationwide Local Community Organizations and Marine Corps Reserve Units collect toys and donations to provide toys and hope to needy children at Christmas time. Success is dependent on local community support of businesses, volunteers, and those who donate unwrapped, new toys.
Toy collection boxes are out at the following locations in Houlton. New unwrapped toys are accepted at the following businesses: Sherwin Williams; S.W. Collins; Jean’s Serendipity; Fireflies and Fezziwigs; and Northern Lighthouse Inc.
Toy and coin donations are also accepted at: Bridgewater Town Office; Mars Hill IGA; and Mars Hill Pharmacy.
On the Run/One Stop in Mars Hill is a coin-only donation location.
Toys for Tots southeast Aroostook County bureau covers the towns of Danforth to Houlton, Hodgdon, Monticello, Bridgewater, Blaine and Mars Hill.
