County Challenge Series awards night is Saturday
The Aroostook Mûsterds Running Club will be presenting awards for its 34th County Challenge Series at The Par and Grill Restaurant in Caribou at 5 p.m. this Saturday.

Guerrette gains MWBCA honor
Husson University senior guard Chandler Guerrette has been named the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Co-Player of the Week. Association officials made the announcement Dec. 7.
Guerrette, a 2013 graduate of Presque Isle High School, had a big week as the Eagles went 2-0 to remain undefeated in 2016-17. The senior started the week off with her first dominant defensive performance in a win at UM-Farmington as she tallied five points, five rebounds to go along with her six steals. In Husson’s first victory over Bates College in 25 years, Guerrette led all-players in points (17), assists (six) and steals (five), while being the catalyst on the defensive side, allowing the Eagles to extend their home winning streak to 15 games.
