Blackhawks beat Brewer to stay perfect

BREWER, Maine — The winning beat goes on for the Houlton-Hodgdon-Southern Aroostook-Katahdin hockey team on the ice this season.

The Blackhawks knocked off Brewer 2-1 Dec. 23, marking the first time in years that the squad has bested the Witches in hockey.

A third-period goal by Josh Malone proved to be the game-winner for the Blackhawks. Garrett Perkins added a goal and Gavin Vining, Brandon Dunn and Nick Delucca each had assists for the winners. Ian Neureuther had 38 saves on 39 shots.

Trey Baker scored off a Ben Byorak assist for Brewer. Drew Baker stopped 21 of 23 shots.
