HOULTON, Maine — Four new missionaries are now out and about in the area. Sister Koyle, Sister Kesler, Elder Williams and Elder Taufer will serve the region on behalf of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
“We are four individuals out of thousands of missionaries serving worldwide with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), more commonly known as the ‘Mormon’ Church,” said Sisters Koyle and Kesler in a press release.
“In the LDS faith, we serve missions to follow the example that Jesus Christ set for us while he was on the earth by reaching out in love to the children of God around us, which means that we are here to serve everyone we come in contact with,” they explained. “We are all children of God.”
During missionaries’ 18 to 24 months of service, they volunteer their time, efforts and talents “to freely give the greatest gift anyone can receive — a faith in Jesus Christ and the joy that accompanies that faith,” the missionaries said.
They seek to help strengthen faith by offering their services in the community, helping people investigate their family history, and teaching from the Bible and The Book of Mormon. All people are invited to hear the Good News.
