Herbert H. ‘Herb’ Plummer
PLUMMER, Herbert H., 70, Maine and Florida, at Orlando, FL, December 28, 2016. Per Herb’s request, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the JDRF, or the charity of your choice, in his name.
Herbert H. ‘Herb’ Plummer passed away peacefully on December 28, 2016, at the age of 70 in the presence of family, in the Cornerstone Hospice facility at ORMC.
Herb was born November 18, 1946, in Mapleton, and grew up roaming the roads and brooks of Sleepy Hollow. In the early 1970s, Herb moved to Chicopee, Mass., and was employed by The Wall Street Journal as a Press Machinist.
In 1989, Herb and family moved to St. Cloud, FL, where he worked for The Orlando Sentinel and The Sun before returning to The Wall Street Journal, retiring after 30 years of service. Herb was also a small business owner doing welding jobs and such as time permitted. Herb was a loyal and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, but most of all a wonderful friend.
He was predeceased by his father, Herb Plummer Sr.; mother, Addie Rossignol Plummer; sisters, Kassie, Ruthie and Doreene.
He was a man of many talents and could tune the radio like no other. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue on for generations to come.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Plummer; sister, Vivian Bedford and family; sister, Darlean Murphy and family; daughter, Penny Marie Barnett and husband, Bill Barnett; daughter, Bonnie Quimby and husband, Russell Quimby; son, LaVern Greene and wife, Penny Greene; daughter, Pamela Towle and husband, Jim Towle; son, Dennis Greene; son, Mark Greene and wife, Claudia Greene. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Sonya, Shawn, Cristy, Ashley, Tim and Michael; and seven great-grandchildren: Taylor, Will, Chandler, Carlie, Emerson, Sawyer and Carley.
