CARIBOU, Maine — The National Weather issued a warning for Aroostook County residents at 4:34 a.m. today, which includes predictions of two to four inches of snow tonight along with a trace of ice and winds traveling south from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
Temperatures are predicted to be in the upper 20s tonight, and to increase to the to the lower 30s by tomorrow morning.
The statement continues to describe potential driving hazards accompanying the weather, with snow and ice creating slippery conditions, particularly on less traveled rural roads.
In addition to hitting northern Maine, the snow and freezing rain are predicted to land in northern Penobscot County as well as northern and central Piscataquis county.
The early morning advisory warned drivers to use caution, as visibility will be limited on the slippery roads.
