HOULTON — Gregory P. Royal 62, died peacefully January 6, 2017 at a Bangor hospital with his family by his side. He was born July 4, 1954, the son of Irma (Knapp) and Maurice Royal.
Greg was born and raised in Hodgdon and upon graduating high school worked in the maintenance department for the Hodgdon School System. He met his future wife, Lucie and settled in Hodgdon, raising three daughters. Greg and his wife then owned and operated a local convenience store for 13 years before quietly retiring in Houlton.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert Royal and two sisters Sally Horten and Donna Cyr. Surviving in addition to his wife Lucie (Levesque) Royal are his daughters Alicia of Houlton, Kerry of Madeira Beach, Florida, and Christal of Beverly, Massachusetts; two grandchildren Storm and Camryn; one brother, Jeffrey Royal and his wife Patricia; three sisters, Norma Keown and her husband Paul; Barbara Shaw and Paulette Shoemaker; Greg also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and his two special companions, Molly and Jojo.
Friends called the Dunn Funeral Home 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 until the time of the service 1 p.m. with Revs. David Tuttle and David Raymond officiating.
