Max Bartley of the Wildcats captured the individual win for boys with a time of 14 minutes and 22.9 seconds in the five-kilometer course. He was 30.6 seconds ahead of runner-up David Roy of Fort Kent and 37.4 seconds clear of third-place finisher Bryce Coffin of Caribou.
The remainder of the boys’ top 10 included Caribou’s Alec Cyr (15:23.3), Matt Kelly of Fort Kent (15:54), Tristan Pelletier of Ashland (16:24.9), Emerson Duplissie-Cyr of Caribou (16:37), Padraig Keith-Hardy of MSSM (16:38), Evan Desmond of Caribou (16:46.1) and Kevin Ayotte of Madawaska (17:00.5).
Leading the way in the girls’ race was Presque Isle’s Izzy Jackson in 16:57.5, with Isabelle Jandreau of Madawaska the runner-up in 17:09 and Kassie Blanchette of the Owls in third in 18:32.8.
Making up the rest of the top 10 were Kendra Furber of Caribou (18:36.2), Dolcie Tanguay of Fort Kent (19:31), Ciara Richards of Caribou (20:07.6), Madeline Gudde of Caribou (21:11.4), Jojo Fields of Caribou (20:26.2), Erin Kashian of Caribou (20:28.7) and Abigail Wimmer of Caribou (21:04.5).
Jessica Halsey led Fort Fairfield in 14th place overall with a clocking of 21:47.9. Kassandra Nelson of Ashland took 16th in 22:11.7 to pace her squad and Andrea Wasson came in at 41:16.2 to finish as the top MSSM skier.
Thirty three boys and 28 girls participated in the competition.
