Wednesday will be relatively quiet on the sports front as only one game is slated. The Hodgdon boys will travel to Fort Kent for a 7 p.m. game.
The following is a recap of games played Tuesday, Jan. 10.
Boys Basketball
Ashland 56, East Grand 41 — At Danforth, Jan. 10, the Vikings fell to 1-8 on the season with the loss to Ashland. Brady McEwen led East Grand with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Katahdin 37, Southern Aroostook 70 — At Dyer Brook Jan. 10, Nolan Altvater tossed in 27 points as Southern Aroostook defeated Katahdin. SACS’ Jackson Mathers chipped in 23 points in the winning effort for the Warriors.
Hunter Craig led the Cougars with 14 points.
SACS led 18-16, 40-20 and 60-32 at the quarter breaks.
GHCA 37, Hodgdon 57 — At Hodgdon Jan. 10, Noah Nash and Kevin McAfee had 13 points apiece to lead Hodgdon (8-3) past Greater Houlton Christian Academy. Daden Palmer added seven points, Wyatt Foster had six and Andrew Tuttle, Devin Ramsey and Josh Palmer each had five.
For GHCA (4-5), Austin Winslow and Jed Grant paced the Eagles with 10 points each, while Cole Winslow added eight and Isaac Potter had five.
GHCA led 12-11 in the first quarter, but Hodgdon went up 27-19 at halftime and led 41-27 after three periods.
Girls Basketball
Hodgdon 28, Fort Fairfield 50 — At Fort Fairfield Jan. 10, Cammi King-Demerchant recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Tigers defeated the Hawks. Emma Campbell had 12 points and 10 steals and Marissa Brouette 11 points for Fort Fairfield. Hunter St. Pierre added 10 rebounds.
Kara Lambert paced Hodgdon with 11 points.
Fort Fairfield led 12-3, 23-10 and 35-18 at the quarter breaks.
Ashland 42, East Grand 45 — At Danforth Jan. 10, Sarah Stoddard scored her 1,000th career point in tallying 17 points in East Grand’s win. Haleigh Shay added 16 points for the Vikings.
Olivia Tardie had 14 points and Hannah Stratton 13 for Ashland.
East Grand led 13-11 in the first quarter and 31-15 at the half, but Ashland rallied to tie the game at 37-37 after three periods.
