CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou is currently searching for a new marketing and events director, and City Manager Austin Bleess says he hopes to have someone fill the position by the end of February, or as soon as they find the “perfect candidate.”
Bleess says the city is looking for a candidate with a “passion for helping to continue the events we have in Caribou with the vision needed to help create new events as well.”
When asked if she had any advice for the new events director, Kieffer-Till said, “Don’t be afraid to be creative and try something different, since different events will appeal to different people in the community.” Lydia Kieffer-Till, who currently serves as the city’s events director, confirmed during a Thursday afternoon interview that she will be taking on a new job at UMPI which involves “organizing the facilities and helping to coordinate conferences and meetings.”
According to the posting on Caribou’s official website, the position will pay between $40,000 and $50,000 annually and requires exceptional interpersonal communication skills and the ability to coordinate numerous city government departments as they are involved in local events.
Those interested in applying can email a resume to citymanager@cariboumaine.org or send it via mail to Events and Marketing Coordinator Search, Attn: City Manager, 25 High St, Caribou, ME 04736. More information is available at cariboumaine.org under the “employment” tab.
