Warriors ground Hawks on CHS court

FORT KENT, Maine — The Fort Kent Community High School boys varsity basketball team defeated the Hodgdon Hawks, 52-45, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the CHS gymnasium.

Jacob Daigle led the charge for the Warriors with a game high 16 points, including six field goals and four free throws. Sophomore Caleb Delisle added another 15 points, the result of five successful three-point shots, three of which he managed during the first quarter. Leonard Hills added two more three-pointers and a layup for eight points.

Three Hodgdon seniors topped the Hawks’ leaderboard. Kevin McAfee completed five field goals and shot 100 percent from the line making four of four free throws for a total of 14 points. McAfee’s teammates Daden Palmer and Noah Nash followed close behind with 12 points and 11 points respectively.

The Warriors offense dominated from the three-point arc and beyond, sinking 10 from afar for a total of 30 points. Freshmen Jace Rocheleau and Eden Paradis chipped in one three-pointer apiece to add to those successfully completed by Delisle and Hills.

The Fort Kent Community High School boys varsity basketball team will next challenge Fort Fairfield at the CHS gym on Friday, January 13 at 7 p.m.
