Braggs named USCAA Academic All-Americans

The USCAA accepts nominations for its National All-Academic Team for each sport offered by a member institution.

The standard for being named an Academic All-American in the USCAA are quite high. Students first must have completed at least 24 credit hours (sophomore standing) and secondly they must have an overall (cumulative) grade point average of at least 3.50 or higher.

Senior Nick Bragg of Washburn is the only University of Maine at Augusta men’s basketball player selected to the Academic All-American team, while his sister, Carmen, joins UMA teammates Caitlin LaFountain of Topsham and Jamie Plummer of Richmond on the elite girls’ team.

“Our athletic department is focused on the academic success of our student-athletes,” said UMA Athletic Director Jennifer Laney. “We are fortunate to have student-athletes in leadership positions that truly prioritize academics and excel in the classroom.”
