The high school volleyball season culminates this week with tournaments taking place at four venues across the region.
The Div. I boys’ tourney takes place at Presque Isle High School Thursday, March 16 beginning at 3:30 p.m. Caribou, Fort Kent and Madawaska are expected to participate along with the host Wildcats.
The girls’ Div. I event is at Caribou High School, also beginning at 3:30 p.m. March 16. Houlton, Madawaska and Presque Isle will join the Vikings in competing.
At Washburn, Div. II girls will have their tournament, which gets underway Friday, March 17 at 2:30 p.m. The boys’ Div. II teams travel to Fort Fairfield for their tourney, which begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 18
Div. II schools include Ashland, Central Aroostook, Easton, GHCA, Hodgdon, Katahdin, LCS/MSSM, Van Buren and Wisdom in addition to the host teams.
All-tournament teams and MVPs are presented following each event. Tournaments feature pool play, with the top seeds advancing into the playoff round.
The defending champions are the Presque Isle girls and boys, the LCS/MSSM girls and the Washburn boys.
