CARIBOU, Maine — Laura Plourde, Marienna St. Peter and Crissy Corbin were respectively crowned Pre-Teen, Junior and Teen Miss Caribou during a March 11 pageant at the Caribou Performing Arts Center.
Laura Plourde was named Pre-Teen Miss Caribou and performed “Vivace” by Fernando Carulli and “Fly’s Adventure” by N. Faber. The other Pre-Teen competitors included Josey St. Peter, who performed a monologue of “The Rapping Teapot”, Lauren Lister who sang “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana, Maddison Jackson, who performed a monologue entitled “Why I Need a Cell Phone”, and Libby Collier, who performed a jazz dance to “Cuban Pete”.
Marienna St. Peter, who gave a piano performance of “Beach Salsa” by Betsy Jackson, received the Junior Miss Caribou title. Along with St. Peter, Kearstin Coty also competed for the Junior Miss title, and delivered an Aero Jazz Routine to the song “See You Again”.
Crissy Corbin received the Teen Miss Caribou title and performed a lyrical dance to the song “Angel”. Corbin also won the Miss Congeniality award and Jackson was awarded for selling the most tickets.
The 2016 Caribou queens gave a final performance and farewell message during the pageant, and passed the crown to this year’s winners. They include Pre-Teen Miss Caribou Claire Ouellette, Junior Miss Caribou Mia Theriault, and Teen Miss Caribou Ashley Violette. 2016 Little Miss Caribou Addison Gove, USA National Miss Maine Claire Kilcollins, and 2016 Miss Northeast Maine Junior Princess Sadie Hunter also performed and distributed programs and tickets for the Saturday pageant.
Erica Raymond, Kathy Ouellette and Teresa Herold judged the contestants, and Amber Moutinho, Danielle Peterson, and Amy Hunter directed the pageant. Lisa Milliard and Laurie Christie were auditors, Sherrill Campbell was chroniker, and John Belanger provided sound and lights.
