Rec center hours

The Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center hours are 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturday. The facility is closed Sundays.

ATV safety course

The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is hosting an ATV safety course April 29 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. for ages 10 and over. Children ages 10-16 must be accompanied by an adult. Upon completion, participants receive certification. Registration fee is $5 per person. Bring a bag lunch. Pre-registration is required.

Babysitters training course

The recreation department is offering a babysitters training course on May 6 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. for ages 11-15. The purpose of this course is to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and toddlers.

This training will help participants to develop leadership skills, learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave, and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. Bring a bag lunch. The registration fee is $35 and is being underwritten by Healthy You. Pre-registration is required.

Indoor soccer tourney

The department is hosting its fifth annual indoor soccer tournament fundraiser for high school boys and girls.

The tournament will be held on Saturday, March 25 at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center  It is a 6 vs. 6 format and rosters are limited to 10 players per team. Players must currently be in grades 9-12 and must play for the school team they play for during the season. A town may enter more than one team. The first 10 girls teams and the first 10 boys teams to register will be included.

Awards will be presented to the first-place team only in each division and proceeds will help benefit youth recreation programs. The deadline to register and submit rosters is March 22. Call 493-4224 to sign up or for more information.
