ISLAND FALLS, Maine — Bowling action continues to heat up the the lanes of the Birch Point Bowling League. In the men’s league, the standings as of Monday, March 20, were: 1, Intimidators, 114-30; 2, Strike Force, 79-65; 3, Skinner Sandbaggers, 68-76; 4, Rough Riders, 65-79; 5, Pinners, 54-90; and 6, Gutterballs, 52-92.
The high single and series both went to Garth Townsend Jr. (134/364). The team high single went to the Pinners (552), while the team high series went to Intimidators (1,502).
The top 5 averages for the men are: Joe Bishop, 106.57; Jerry Violette, 101.04; Ryan Vose, 100.96; Scott Violette, 100.39; and John Duffy, 100.30.
In the women’s league, the regular season is now complete. The final standings as of March 14 were: 1, Twisted Sisters, 123-37; 2, County Girls, 105-55; 3, Pin-Up Girls, 79-81; 4, Incredibowls, 75-85; 5, W.W.B., 70-90; and 6, Gutter Gang, 28-132. Next week, the women will participate in the roll-offs.
Weekly high single and series went to Dede Edkins (122/323), which also set the record for the year-to-date high single and series.
