HOULTON, Maine — Region Two School of Technology inducted its second group of students into the National Technical Honor Society March 8.
“Bringing national recognition and scholarship opportunities to Career and Technical Education (CTE) students was rewarding for everyone,” said Hollie McPartland, program counselor for Region Two School of Applied Technology. “NTHS affiliation encourages family and community involvement in the educational process.”
New members include Ashlie Cullins, Olivia White, Jacob Worthley, Zachary Quint, Tessa Roshto, Anessa Wilde, McKenley Pierce, Brooke Howland, Morgan Grant, Kate Newman and MacKenzie Hunt, Jenna Blake, Devyn LaGassey, Megan L. Russell and Sarah Stoddard.
The purpose of NTHS is to honor student achievement and leadership in career and technical education, promote educational excellence, award scholarships, and enhance career opportunities for the NTHS membership.
“It was wonderful to have parents, students, faculty from Region Two and some sending schools attend the induction of 15 fine individuals,” McPartland said. “The criteria for membership is to be academically eligible by maintaining a 3.0 or higher average, show leadership and be in good standing in a CTE program.
Each instructor pinned their student with a NTHS pin and awarded them with a certificate. The new members recited the NTHS pledge and a reception of cake and punch was held afterward for fellowship amongst the attendees.
