BMV changes mobile unit visitation times

AUGUSTA, Maine – Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap announced on March 22, 2017, a change in the visitation schedule for the Bureau of Motor Vehicle’s mobile driver license units in several towns.

The mobile units, staffed by BMV personnel, make regular visits to provide license services in areas that are a significant distance away from the 13 BMV branch offices.

The department is changing schedules to reduce overtime travel costs, while maintaining consistency in service.

Local schedules include:

In Houlton, the mobile unit will visit the Houlton Fire Department, 99 Military St., on the Thursday following the third Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 to 3 p.m., effective April 20, 2017.

Stacyville will see the unit at the town office, 414 Station Rd., on the second Wednesday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m., effective April 12, 2017.

All BMV branch office and mobile unit information is posted online at www.maine.gov/sos/bmv/locations/index.html.
