MARCELLA YVETTE MARIE LEVESQUE NORTON PRESQUE ISLE – Marcella Yvette Marie Levesque Norton, 86, passed away April 9, 2017, after suffering a brief illness. She was born on June 30, 1930, in Keegan, the daughter of Emile and Anna (Chasse) Levesque.
Marcella became a licensed cosmetologist and owned her own hair salon before marrying Linwood in May 1953. They settled in Presque Isle in 1963, where they raised their family of five. After raising her family, Marcella started a new career caring for others at local healthcare facilities and worked as a physical therapy aide until her retirement.
Following retirement Marcella continued caring for by volunteering at the local C.A.N.C.E.R group and other organizations. Marcella loved her Levesque family gatherings and family pets. She was very creative with arts and crafts, and was a member of the Presque Isle Congregational Church.
She is survived by her sons, Brian Norton and his wife, Millie, of Falmouth, Niles Norton of Presque Isle and Scott Norton and his wife, Lisa, of Presque Isle; daughter, Linette Poirier and her husband, Norm, of Winterport; and seven grandchildren, Nick, Ryley and Chase of Presque Isle, Sam, Michael and Lizzy of Falmouth and Logan of Winterport. She is also survived by sisters, Jeanne McBurnie of Bangor, Joan McDermott and Hermance Levesque, both of Connecticut. In addition to her parents, Marcella was predeceased by her son, Keith Norton; brothers, Emilien and Freddie Levesque; and sisters, Ernestine Levesque and Lucille Berchulski.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. April 12, 2017, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Interment will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.
