PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Among two incidents in mid-April, police are still investigating a burglary and vandalism on the University of Maine campus.

On April 13, the UMPI Safety and Security staff called the Presque Isle Police Department to report the burglary of a bus used by the baseball team and damage done at Wieden Hall.

According to the police report, two individuals allegedly broke into the bus and stole baseball hats and balls and also allegedly entered Wieden Hall and spread feces on handrails and walls.

The individuals are not being identified because the investigation is still ongoing, according to the PIPD. It is not clear if they are UMPI students, but they are facing charges of criminal mischief, burglary and theft.

One of the individuals also apparently commented about the incident on Snapchat and threatened students if they shared information about it.

In another incident on Federal Street in Presque Isle on April 15, a woman reported that her truck’s rear window was smashed sometime after 11 p.m.

Police did not identify the perpetrator but advised the victim to keep a repair tab for the window in the event the culprit is found.
