FORT FAIRFIELD, ME — The Aroostook Birders kick off the spring birdwatching season Saturday, April 22, 2017, with the annual Waterfowl Walk in Fort Fairfield.

Participants will meet at the Aroostook River boat launch just downstream of the Aroostook River bridge on Riverside Avenue at 8 a.m., and will spend a leisurely morning carpooling to visit several prime locations along the Aroostook River and parks in town.

The outing will end at 11 a.m. and will be held rain or shine. Those attending should dress appropriately and bring binoculars, field guides, snacks and drinks. There will be a short bathroom break midway through the morning.

All are invited to come celebrate Earth Day and learn about the migrating ducks and geese and other early spring migrant birds.
