CARIBOU, Maine — The Maine Federation of Humane Societies (MFHS), a statewide network of companion animal welfare organizations working to support animal welfare organizations, will offer a free grant writing seminar in the Caribou Room of the Caribou Public Library on Tuesday, April 25, from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
Grant Writing 101 will feature a panel of foundations serving nonprofits throughout Maine. Panel members will include representatives from Elmina B. Sewall Foundation and May HTR Foundation.
“Grant money is available to organizations throughout the state, but knowing how to create a fundable program and budget, write its description and win the award are special skills,” said MFHS Program Director Martha Kalina, “and our organization is working to help Maine animal welfare organizations obtain those valuable skills through this workshop.”
Anyone interested in the grant writing is invited to attend this presentation, even though a portion of its focus will be animal welfare. Those attending should bring their own lunch and join in from 12:30 to 1 p.m. for lunch and networking. The presentations and panel discussion will occur from 1 to 3 p.m.
The seminar is free but space is limited, so preregistration is encouraged by emailing info@MeFed.org.
