MARY ELLEN HUNT SHERMAN – Mary Hunt, 81, Sherman. The Good Lord came to earth again on April 17, 2017. Not to say hi or to just check in, but to take one of his Angel’s home with him to heaven. Mary Ellen Hunt went home with him to become a guardian angel and watch over her loving family that she left behind. She was born Jan. 30, 1936, the daughter of Everett and Ellen (Qualey) McAvoy.
Mary was a member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church. She worked beside her loving husband, Otis, for many years raising potatoes. She worked at KHS for many years in the kitchen and was a very dedicated sports fan to Katahdin sports as well as the Red Sox and Celtics.
She is survived by 5 daughters, Paula Hunt of Sherman, Barbara and Richard Pelletier of Stacyville, Laura Long of Houlton, Donna Hunt and Brian Smith of Bangor and Anna and Randy McFarland of Houlton; fifteen grandchildren, T.J. and Liza Ryan, Adam and Melissa Ryan, Devin and Danielle Ryan, Lucas Pelletier, Spencer Pelletier and Shauna Guiggey, Brody Pelletier and Alicia Cumbee, Dawson Pelletier,Jasmine and Marc Ambridge, Lacy Pelletier, Marty Jo and Todd Carter, Mary Long, Sarah and Robert Marcroft, John Luke Pond and Shanice Cruz, Brandon Merry and Kaitlyn Irish and Bronson and Logan Clark, twenty-three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Cunningham of Sherman and Esther Rush-Hines of Benedict; and two brothers, Michael and Sharon McAvoy of Arkansas and Marty and Roxanne McAvoy of Wisconsi; one sister-in-law, Bernadette Hunt of Oregon; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeased by her parents; her husband, Otis; two brothers, Albert and Everett; and a sister, Lucy McNally. She was officially known as Mary but to those who knew her well and carry on her legacy, she will always be known as “NANA HUNT”.
