WESTFIELD, ME – Marilyn Marie (Bean) Lovley, 80, unexpectedly passed away on April 28, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 1, 1936 to Murle and Leona (Brooker) Bean of Easton. The oldest of five children, Marilyn was a lover of animals even as a young girl on her family’s farm.
Marilyn was well known for her compassionate and no-nonsense manner, and she loved caring for the people and animals around her. She raised four children, managed her household, and loved her work.Throughout her life, Marilyn worked for only three employers, The Aroostook Medical Center, as the Head of Housekeeping for several years, and later in life worked as a home health care professional for Visiting Nurses of Aroostook and Aroostook Home Health Services. Her home care work was a passion she discovered late in her career, and she worked for many years after her planned retirement, enjoying her time with the patients she served.
Marilyn was an animal lover, teaching her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren the joys of sharing our lives with pets. She owned dozens and dozens of animals throughout her life, and showered any animal she cared for with love and attention, often making her own dog and cat food to assure that her “babies” ate the best possible ingredients. Marilyn shared her life with Franklin Lovley, participated and volunteered in her community, and loved the Calvary Baptist Church in Westfield where she attended services for several decades.
Marilyn loved to cook, was famous for her homemade bread and applesauce, and loved spending time in the outdoors. She crocheted, loved to read, loved visiting the neighbors and bringing treats, and always had a snack for any of her visitors. She was an independent woman who was honest, loving, and courageous.
She is survived by three children, her oldest daughter Michelle Ainsley and her husband John of Baltimore, MD, her son Isaac Masters and his wife Monique of Westfield, her youngest daughter and constant companion Cecilia Masters of Westfield, and daughter in law Carla Masters of Presque Isle, her siblings Paula Carson and her husband Glenn of Presque Isle, Janet Allen of Fort Myers, FL, Maynard Bean and his wife Judy of Standish, ME, her beloved grandchildren April Flagg, Owen Holland, Dustin Holland, Niki Masters, Isaac Masters III, Daniel Masters, Angel Sayahi, Lydia Masters, Tennille Nason, and Maurice Hewitt III, many great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, including Tammy Carson who cared for Marilyn in her later years, and great nieces and nephews. Her legacy will live on in the many children she showered with love and affection.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Franklin Lovley, her brother Murle Cleveland Bean, and her beloved son Murle Masters.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on May 5th at 6:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Westfield, Rev. Larry Palmer officiating.
