RAYMOND E. SUITTER SALEM, NH – Raymond E. Suitter, 71 of Salem, NH. left us way too soon on September 25, 2016. His loving family was by his side.
He served in the US Army in the 1st Air Calvary Division.
His working career consisted of truck driver, mechanic, heavy equipment construction operator and roadside mechanic for a towing company. On his days off he quite often could be found rolling up his sleeves, dress clothes or not, to fix family, friend or complete strangers vehicle. Never expecting or accepting payment for a job well done. He loved working in his yard or on his cars and pick-ups. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and his dog Makita.
Ray was a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren who lovingly called him Grumpy. He was truly a hard working, dedicated, family man.
He was predeceased by his parents Hazel (Ellis) and Bert Suitter, his brothers Kenny, Eddie and Bobby and his sisters Maxine, Donna, Althea and Joan. On April 19, 2017 very deeply loved brother Marvin also joined the list of loved ones who have passed away.
Raymond will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 29 years, Judith (McKinnon) Suitter of Salem: his children, Raymond Suitter Jr. and wife Laura, Kerry Suitter, Sherrie Suitter-Smart and husband Kevin and Angela Suitter; his stepsons, David Hawkes and wife Melinda, Andy Hawkes and wife Holly, Scott Richart and wife Tracey and Todd Simoine. His siblings Ronald, Sonny, Glenn, Jeanette, Darrell, Connie, Ervin, Norma and Larry; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11 AM at the Wesleyan Church on 18 Kelleran St., Houlton, Maine. The family extends an invitation to join them following the service for a time of refreshment at the Meduxnekeag Rambler Club House, Willey Road in Littleton.
