CARIBOU, Maine — Sons and daughters in Caribou searching for the perfect Mother’s Day gift will have a wide array of presents to choose from if they decide to shop locally at Brambleberry Market in Caribou.

The shop, located at 25 Sweden Street, has been in business for seven years, and is owned and operated by Debbie Sutherland.

Between now and Mother’s Day, those walking in the shop will see a table adorned with numerous gifts specifically for the May 14 holiday.

“I just put this table together, and thought these were great ideas for Mother’s Day gifts,” Sutherland said. “We have a lot of different things to offer.”

The shop owner explained how moms may like a stainless steel dip chiller in which hot or cold water can be added to an area below the removable lid to regulate dip temperature.

The decorated table also featured numerous garments and accessories, from bracelets and watches to “magnetic” scarves.

“You just put the scarves on and the magnet snaps it in place,” Sutherland said. “They’re great for people who don’t necessarily know how to tie scarves but just want a little something to add to their wardrobe. All they have to do is twist it a little bit and attach it.”

The table also featured metal wall hangings, glass candleholders, wine glasses, “Home is Where Mom is” dish towels, and specialty farmhouse lotions and soaps.

Sutherland said the shop offers some great gifts for mom’s with a green thumb, from whirligigs, to plant pot stakes, and hand lotion tailored to the gardening lifestyle.

“Gardeners can put on the barrier cream before they go out and it protects their hands,” Sutherland said. “Then when they come in they can wash their hands with the hand scrub and put the barrier cream back on before going out again.”

Gifts further into the store included bird bath bowls that can also be hung as wall ornaments, photo frames, scented candles, jewelry, blouses and purses.

“We offer just about anything you could buy for mom right here,” Sutherland said.
