Kevin was born on September 12, 1951, in Caribou, to Lynwood and Arlene Monteith. He graduated from Auburn Vocational College in 1978, with a degree in Printing. He married Michele Hutton. They fell in love and he asked her to marry him on May 03, 1979, and were married two months later on July 12, 1979. They lived in Woodland and he began working at the Maine Bag Company before going into business for himself as a painter. In 1980, their first child, Sarah, was born and less than 2 years later, Heather arrived. Kevin was known for teaching them about the importance of the Lord Jesus. Kevin and Michele loved to fly fish and taught this to their children. His love of the outdoors with fishing and camping at Square Lake are some of the greatest memories with the family.
Kevin was an accomplished painter even upon moving to Florida where his skill was awarded the highest painting honor given, the Sherwin Williams painter of the year. He was always known for joking around, and making others laugh, usually at him. He was very passionate about teaching his grandchildren to learn their bible verses and giving both of them a love for painting. He spent his last 3 years on this earth taking care of Joseph and Rebecca every day. Kevin Lee Monteith will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love him.
A Celebration of Kevin’s life is scheduled for 11:00am on May 20, 2017, at Eastern Avenue Baptist Church, St. Cloud, Fla. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kevin’s amazing life.
