PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Aroostook Aspirations Initiative (AAI) recently hired Justin Simpson as sales and business development executive for Opportunities Aroostook.
Simpson is a graduate of Presque Isle High School and moved back to Aroostook County in 2007 to be close to family after spending seven years in Cape Cod, Mass. He has a 12-year background working in sales and finance, 10 of which have been spent working in sales at two car dealerships in the Presque Isle area.
He has a passion for this field of work, and expressed his enthusiasm for this new position saying, “Raising my family in Aroostook County is a goal of mine. Being involved with County businesses is intriguing to me, and I’m excited to work with AAI and make a positive difference for so many people.”
Kristen Wells, AAI executive director, said, “Opportunitiesaroostook.com is the only website designed to attract and retain workers and interns in Aroostook County. The success of the website depends on the ability of this position to engage the business community.

Opportunities Aroostook grew out of the Aroostook Partnership for Progress Education to Industry Initiative, which looks to connect high school and college students with emerging jobs in The County. Aroostook Partnership and AAI came together after AAI received a grant to form the Internship Hub of Aroostook, and decided to move forward with one website managed under AAI’s roof.
Opportunities Aroostook is designed to be user-friendly for both applicants and companies. Applicants create their own profiles, upload their resumes and keep up to date with the most current job postings, internship and volunteer opportunities in The County. Companies can also create their own profiles from which they post job openings, internship and volunteer opportunities.
