HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Area Little League has received a collection of baseball related items and money from Carroll’s Auto Sales through the Chevy Youth Baseball Program.
Chris Robinson, an associate at Carroll’s Auto Sales in Presque Isle, made the presentation to Houlton Area Little League President Brian Barton on May 4 at one of the league’s fields.
“In the spirit of community collaboration and teamwork taught through youth sports, Carroll’s Auto Sales is supporting Houlton Area Little League,” Chevrolet officials said in a press release. “This sponsorship will include both monetary and equipment donations during the 2017 youth baseball season.”
Chevy Youth Baseball is a grassroots initiative that establishes a positive relationship between local dealers and the communities they serve. Carroll’s Auto Sales is sponsoring Houlton Area Little League as part of the company’s nation-wide commitment to support youth sports.
League president Brian Barton expressed his gratitude for the generous donation, stating it was a “wonderful donation that will be put to good use by our kids.”
In addition to a $500 cash donation, Houlton Area Little League received an assortment of baseball equipment, including tees, equipment bags and scorebooks. Also, the youth baseball participants will have a chance to attend youth clinics with the Portland Sea Dogs and Maine Sluggers.
“We are looking forward to a great season with Houlton Area Little League that will be filled with exciting games and an enhanced experience for the teams through the equipment and cash donations,” said Kirk Carroll, of Carroll’s Auto Sales. “Chevy Youth Baseball is just one example of how committed our dealership is to supporting the youth and families in our community.”
The 2017 program will provide assistance to approximately 300 organizations in the northeastern region and Chevrolet dealers will contribute more than $450,000 in monetary and equipment donations.
