CARIBOU, Maine — Eugene Alfred Hedman, 82, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017. He was born in Caribou, August 11, 1934, the son of Alfred and Freda (Lund) Hedman.
He was married to the late Nellie E. Cook for 41 years. Eugene worked his entire life as a mechanic and in earth construction. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, and worked on anything mechanical. Eugene was a member of the Maine National Guard for 6 years. He worked at Eastern Auto Supply for five years. He was a State of Maine employee for years; First trucking for S.H.C. with his own truck for five years than at the Caribou M.T.S. garage for three years as a driver trainer for 17 years until he retired in 1988. He later was self-employed doing earth construction.
Eugene was predeceased by his wife, father, mother, stepfather, four aunts, and three uncles. He is survived by several cousins, special friends Richard and Greta Bennett, a very dear friend, Bernard Berglind, and several other special friends.
