Presque Isle’s annual Memorial Day Parade will be held Monday, May 29, sponsored this year by Smart-Ricker Chapter 10, Disabled American Veterans.
Lineup will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, with the parade starting at 10 a.m.
Along the parade route, ceremonies will be held at the Park Street Bridge to pay tribute to U.S. Navy veterans and at Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street.
Although Memorial Day pays homage to the brave people who perished fighting for their country, it also is an opportunity to recognize the military men and women and their families who continue to work to ensure the freedom of Americans.
The Star-Herald joins in thanking all veterans, along with current service members and their families, for their service.
