CASWELL, Maine — Tressa E. Caldwell, 89, wife of the late James H. Caldwell, passed away Monday morning May 29, 2017, at her Caswell home, following a brief illness. She was born April 9, 1928, in Caribou, the daughter of Ambrose Sr. and Lucy (Butler) Bubar.

She attended Caribou schools and was married to James H. Caldwell on June 28, 1947. Tressa enjoyed gardening, picking fiddleheads, yard sales, cooking, canning, and crafts of all kinds including crocheting. She also had a passion for dancing, which she enjoyed into her seventies. She will be remembered by her family a loving and caring, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Tressa was predeceased by her husband, James on December 10, 2008; and seven brothers, Irving, George, Ambrose Jr., Arnold, Melvin, William and Ralph Bubar; one sister, Ivy Hebert. She is survived by two sons, John Caldwell of Caswell, Cliff Caldwell and his wife Amy of Chapman; four daughters, Betty Hotelling and her husband John of Limestone, Judy Caldwell of Caswell, Sally Woodward and her husband Bruce of Yuma, AZ, Kathy Caldwell of Limestone; one sister, Betty Arnold and her husband Danny of Limington; seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday June 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Meg Hegemann officiating. Interment will follow at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou.
