Maine School Administrative District 1 students heading home Tuesday afternoon escaped injuries when their bus sideswiped a loaded logging truck, according to the Maine State Police.
State troopers responded to the crash Tuesday on Turner Road in Castle Hill, where the logging truck operated by Carter Marin encountered the school bus operated by Brandy Carter.
The bus was travelling north on the road, while the logging truck was driving south and the two sideswiped each other, but avoided major damage, the police said.
“Due to the narrow roadway the mirrors from both vehicles struck causing them to break,” the police said in a media release.
Approximately 16 students were on board at the time, and although none was injured, Crown Ambulance did respond to check on the incident, according to the release. The students were transferred to another bus and then taken home.
