CARIBOU, Maine — The National Weather Service Office in Caribou has issued a thunderstorm advisory for Monday, June 12, 2017, for the afternoon and evening.
The advisory includes the southeastern Aroostook County communities of Millinocket, East Millinocket, Patten, Medway, Houlton, Hodgdon, Sherman and Smyrna Mills.
Strong thunderstorms are expected across the Central Highlands, Penobscot Valley and eastern Maine this afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms may contain hail and damaging winds.
Strong thunderstorms can become severe, producing large hail, damaging winds, deadly lightning, and very heavy rainfall.
