The Caribou Public Library Archives and Special Collections contain numerous unidentified photographs of WWI military personnel. Many of these pictures are “orphaned.” Many donors drop off an old family photo without identifying who the person is.
Last week’s photograph was identified by Brenda Bourgoine as possibly being Linwood Wellington of Caribou. He was on the U. S. S. Seawolf S-28 H class submarine.
This week’s photograph is of an unknown military man. Library staff believe he is wearing a World War I U.S. Army Marines Officer Campaign Hat. If you recognize this person, please contact the Director of the Caribou Public Library, Anastasia Weigle, at 493-4214 or email librarydirector@cariboumaine.org.
