DAVID A. BLANCHETTE BIDDEFORD – David A. Blanchette, 63, died June 3, 2017, at Southern Maine Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Houlton, ME, on November 14, 1953, one of the nine children of Onezime and Ernestine (Rossignol) Blanchette.
David graduated from Houlton High School and began his career in radio at WHOU. He went on to college at Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute and then worked at Data General, Chapman Co., Sprague, and General Dynamics.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers; Gary, Roger, Donald, Brian, and an unnamed stillborn.
Surviving members of his family include his daughter, Tabatha, of Rochester, NH, and her mother, Rebecca Henderson; brother, Robert and his wife, Mary (Henderson), of Houlton, ME, and their children, Deborah (Blanchette) Ropple of Des Moines, IA, and Peter Blanchette of Houlton, ME; brother, Richard and his wife, Terry (Mandabach), of Saco, ME, and their children, Roger Blanchette of Bedford, NH, and Amanda (Blanchette) Anderson of Saco, ME; and sister, Ann Marie and her husband, John Prendergast of Litchfield, NH, and their children, Matthew Prendergast of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Catherine (Prendergast) Eitapence of Hudson, NH, Megan (Prendergast) Duprat of Nashua, NH, and Joseph Prendergast of Woburn, MA. David is also survived by one grandniece and six grandnephews.
At David’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Interment will be at the St. Mary of the Visitation Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Houlton, ME.
