Any ID Who? (week of June 28, 2017)

The Caribou Public Library Archives and Special Collections contain numerous unidentified photographs of WWI military personnel.

Many of these pictures are what we call “orphaned.”  Many donors drop off an old family photo without identifying who the person is. Last week’s photograph was identified as Corporal Clarence C. Brown, born in Caribou on July 16, 1895, and died in Presque Isle, August 19, 1956. Corporal Brown was a member of Battery B, 303rd Field Artillery during World War I. This week we have another photograph of a young man in the traditional “dough boy” uniform, a term used for a member of the U.S. Army during WWI. If you recognize this person, please contact the Director of the Caribou Public Library, Anastasia Weigle, at 207-493-4214 or email us at  librarydirector@cariboumaine.org.
