FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Girls’ varsity basketball teams will converge at Fort Fairfield Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1 for the 12th annual Girls’ “County” Basketball Shootout tourney.
Every team will play between four and six games, beginning with pool play. The top teams advance to the playoff bracket.
An all-tournament team will be selected following the event and will vie in a three-point competition.
Friday’s games will take place at Fort Fairfield High School. Calais takes on Madawaska at 4 p.m., Fort Fairfield plays Caribou 2 at 5 p.m., Central Aroostook squares off against Madawaska at 6 p.m. and Caribou 2 takes on Calais at 7 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule is not complete, but games begin at 10 a.m. and the armory gym will be utilized as well as FFHS.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students, which is good for all games played Friday and Saturday. Concessions will be available at the high school gymnasium.
