TOWNSHIP 8, RANGE 5, Maine — On Wednesday, June 28, around 5 a.m., the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a pickup truck had struck a moose on Route 11 in Township 8, Range 5.
Timothy McNally, 52, of Sherman, was travelling north on Route 11 when a moose ran out in front of him from the right side of the roadway. McNally attempted to avoid the moose but was unsuccessful.
The moose struck the front passenger side of his 2016 Dodge Ram causing extensive damage to the pickup.
McNally and his two other passengers were not injured in the incident. The occupants of the pickup were wearing seat belts. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. The moose was killed.
