BRIDGEWATER, Maine — Myreta E. Shaw, 91, passed away on June 27, 2017, at the Aroostook Health Center, Mars Hill. She was born on September 22, 1925, in Freedom, ME, the daughter of Melbourne and Mapley (Lunn) Antworth.
She was a member of the Bridgewater Full Gospel Assembly for many years where she loved playing the harmonica and singing. She enjoyed cooking and made the best bread and mincemeat. She enjoyed crocheting and working on the harvester for a local farmer where she worked even on her 80th birthday. She was known as “Grammie” to all the babies and children who knew her.
Myreta is survived by her daughters; Maria Boulette and her husband Ken of Enfield, CT, and Brenda Vennart of Blaine and Wendy Gagnon of Bridgewater, who was like a third daughter to her, a son, Wayne Shaw and his wife Susan of Mars Hill, sisters; Donna Kenney of Presque Isle and Mapley Lindsay of Cary, a brother, Merle Antworth of Westfield, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charles Shaw, and three sons; Charles, Royce and Bruce.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the caring staff at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill especially her favorite nurse, Jill Lunney.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 1, 2017, at the Bridgewater Full Gospel Assembly. Interment was held at Smith Cemetery, Bridgewater.
